Z. Cartter Patten, III, CFA, CIC
Chairman, Portfolio Manager Z. Cartter Patten, III is a founder, Principal, Chairman, and a Portfolio Manager of the firm. Prior to the founding of Patten and Patten in 1976, he worked six years in the treasury department at Volunteer State Life Insurance Co. and six years as a self-employed investment adviser. Mr. Patten has long been active in the community serving on a number of corporate and civic boards. Currently Mr. Patten is a member of Board of Directors Long Automotive Group; and the Advisory Board of Brentwood Capital Advisers (Nashville). Additionally, he is a Director of American Rivers (Washington, DC); and a member of the National Advisory Council of the Hermitage (Nashville, TN). Mr. Patten has served on the Board of Directors AmSouth Bancorporation (NYSE listed); and Chubb Life America. Mr. Patten is a graduate of Princeton University (A.B., History, 1962) and the Baylor School. Education:
